"In almost every human activity, for something to happen, someone, or a small group of people, needs to take responsibility for being in charge and directing the rest of us to achieve that end. Orchestras want their conductor, prize-winning restaurants need their chefs de cuisine. We can be good at achieving something on our own, but it seems that in order to achieve something together, someone needs to take charge. We need leaders." - Chris Green
The question is what kind of leaders?
How your gift of leadership is designed by God to serve your church.
If leadership is one of God’s gifts to the church (Romans 12:8), how are we supposed to exercise it? Is preaching sermons enough, or do we need to go to business seminars as well?
In this City Lab we’ll learn about the range of tasks involved in Word-ministry, and how leadership fits in. We’ll think about how our egos can get in the way, and how we should serve under Jesus’ lordship.
You’ll have a chance to run a real-life example through a grid we shall develop, and you can do that work in breakout rooms.
Chris Green has a new book coming out in August, ‘The Gift - how your leadership can serve your church’, and you’ll be getting a sneak preview.
