Action needed: how can the church engage on the streets of London?

  • Inspire St James Clerkenwell Church London, England, EC1R 0EA United Kingdom (map)

Jesus walked on the streets and came to meet people where they were. How do we meet people where they are in a city as diverse, vibrant and complex as London? How can we be more like Him when sharing the good news of the gospel with people with very different needs, hopes and fears?

Rev. Les Isaac share from his years of active engagement and experience on the streets of London and beyond. He is the founder of Ascension Trust and the pioneer of Street Pastors, an initiative that began in 2003 with 18 volunteers on the streets of Brixton and London and has grown to encompass a network of volunteers who engage with people on the streets to care for them, listen to them and help them. In recognition of the contribution that Les has made to society, he was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen and has recently been appointed as an honorary Ecumenical Canon at Southwark Cathedral.
